Paul Grainger
The Managing Director of Leisure Strategies Paul Grainger, brings over 35 years of proven success and hands on experience to the Board table in the operation and strategic development of a diverse range of premier Club, recreation and hospitality related businesses. This comprehensive career has traversed leading corporate, management company and volunteer board governance structures.
After completing an honours degree in Sports Science and Leisure Management in UK, Paul was enticed to Hong Kong to join a leisure services company as their General Manager. This is where Paul developed his keen business skills for the leisure sector, in a fast paced and dynamic environment. These skills have continually proven to be an invaluable asset.
Paul was appointed to the role of Country Club Manager at The Clearwater Bay Golf, Country Club and Marina in Hong Kong in 1990, becoming the Chief Executive Officer in 1995. Clearwater Bay is one of Asia's finest and largest private Clubs. The Club employed 300 staff, served 3000 members and comprised 27 holes of Golf, a 300 berth marina and a 120,000 square meter Country Club, with a full range of recreation facilities and food and beverage services. A diverse project development portfolio valued in excess of AUD $34 million was professionally managed and delivered during Paul's tenure.
Paul's relocation to Australia in 2003 led to a role with Troon Golf, the worldwide leader in Golf Club management as the General Manager of Brookwater Golf Club in Brisbane. This facility has consistently been voted one of the countries leading golf facilities.

In 2004, Paul was specifically recruited to the role of General Manager of the Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club, one of Australia's finest resorts and private Club's. His prime responsibilities being the management, operation and strategic re-development of leisure oriented facilities within the internationally acclaimed Sanctuary Cove Resort on the Gold Coast. Facilities comprised two championship golf courses, an award winning Country Club and the resort's Leisure Club. The Club employed 140 staff, served 1200 members and produced 90,000 golf rounds annually.

Paul joined the Brisbane Polo Club as General Manager in 2010, one of the cities leading business Clubs, successfully restructuring the Club prior to being to taking on the role of CEO at The Brisbane Club, one of Australia's premier City Clubs in 2015.
In 2019, Paul was recruited to the role of General Manager at Commonwealth Golf Club, one of Melbourne's iconic golfing facilities. His primary strategic objectives being to create an overall master plan for a restoration of the course and renovation of the Clubhouse, also successfully managing the Club, its staff and members through the world wide pandemic in 2020 and 2021.
